Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 23, 2026 · quillow.fun
Quillow ("Quillow", "we", "us") is a study app that runs a focus timer, tracks streaks, XP and gems, and lets you study with friends in squads with a group chat and leaderboard, plus an AI study tutor called StudyGPT. This policy explains what information we collect when you use Quillow at quillow.fun or through the Quillow app, why we collect it, and what choices you have.
1. Information we collect
Account information
When you sign in with Google, or email and password, we receive your name, email address and profile picture (if provided by the sign-in provider) to create your Quillow account.
Profile you create
Username, display name and the emoji avatar you choose during setup.
Study activity
Study timer sessions, daily streaks, XP, gems, stars, achievements, league standing, and any scores or results you choose to post.
Squad & social data
Squads (study rooms) you create or join, room codes, group chat messages you send, friend requests and friendships, and invites between users.
StudyGPT conversations
Messages you send to the StudyGPT AI tutor, so it can generate a response and, on your device, keep the conversation visible to you.
Device & usage data
A device identifier (or your account ID once signed in) used to sync your progress and enforce daily usage limits, such as the AI image generation quota.
2. How we use your information
- Create and secure your account, and keep you signed in
- Sync your streak, XP, gems and achievements across devices
- Power squads, group chat, friends and the ranked leaderboard
- Generate StudyGPT's responses to your questions
- Enforce fair-use limits (like daily AI image generations)
- Maintain, secure and improve Quillow, and fix bugs
4. Third-party services we use
Quillow is built on top of a small number of infrastructure providers, each of which processes data on our behalf:
- Supabase: authentication, database hosting and storage for your account, profile, squads, messages and stats.
- Google: if you choose to sign in with Google, it authenticates you and shares basic profile details with Quillow as permitted by your consent on its sign-in screen.
- Ollama Cloud: processes the messages you send to StudyGPT in order to generate a reply.
Each of these providers has its own privacy practices governing the data it processes for us.
5. Storage, security & retention
Your data is stored with our database provider (Supabase) and protected with access controls appropriate to a service of this size. Some data, such as your local device identifier and cached profile, is also stored in your browser's local storage so the app loads instantly on return visits. We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us (see Section 9).
6. Your rights and choices
- Access or update your display name, username and avatar at any time from your profile
- Leave a squad or remove a friend whenever you like
- Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Sign out to stop syncing further activity to your account
7. Children's privacy
Quillow is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
